Debbie and Ed put such a lot of effort into making the day a success.

They had decked out the barn with flags, photos and had a video running of Jenny Loriston-Clarke giving advice on compiling a programme of dressage to music.

The morning consisted of flat work, working in 2 groups according to ability.  Then Debbie an Ed performed a pas de deux to music on Leanne Dryburgh's 2 stallions.

Debbie gave an explanation of their philosophy for training young horses and demonstrated the stages of early training with 2 youngsters - one just backed and the other after 2 to 3 months work.

Debbie emphasised, "We never rush or force our young horses.  All the horses are treated as individuals.  Even the stallions are treated like the other horses."

After a break for lunch and a demonstration of various products by Debbie and Ed, it was back aboard for our riders and into the show jumping arena with Ed or out on the cross country course with Debbie.

By the end of the afternoon there were a lot of beaming faces and one party had enjoyed themselves so much, they decided to stay over another night.

Some comments of the day were, "Ed and Debbie are brilliant teachers", "an excellent day", "pleasant unhassled atmosphere", "we were occupied all the time with a well planned day".

Yes, Ed and Debbie put a lot into the day and all the prize winners felt they got a lot from their experience.

For my part, I will take a note to provide hot drinks for lunchtime - apologies for that omission!

Thank you all for making the effort to come and be such a friendly group.  I enjoyed meeting you all and watching you enjoy yourselves.

Any my thanks to Debbie and Ed for providing such a wonderful prize for our readers.  You have provided horses for the winners who could not ride their own horses for one reason or another - what great sports and what a wonderful opportunity for the readers.
