Lynne gets her lesson with Debbie and Ed.

After a postponement of a week because of absolutely torrential rain, one of last month's winners arrived for her lesson with Debbie and Ed.

The extra wait was certainly worthwhile as the afternoon was sunny and bright with little or no wind; just perfect for a show jumping lesson.  It was an excuse to escape from the office for the Afternoon!

Lynne McGregor (21) had bought along her 16.1 hh TB cross Tobster whom she has owned for less than 2 months.

Bought from Andrew Bonelli Baird of DABBS Equestrian Centre, Tobster knew how to jump, but Lynne was needing to regain her confidence after hip operations had kept her out of the saddle for a time.

Lynne enjoyed her lesson with Debbie and felt she had plenty to go home and thinki about and to work on.

At present studying Travel and Tourism at Dundee College, Lynne hopes to do a bit of everything with Tobster, including Riding Club eventing.

Younger sister Sarah, however, has made up her mind to concentrate on show jumping.  She has recently started work at John Whittaker's yard and was just about to make her first trip abroad with the team.

I could see what she meant when Ed put Freeman, an ex-international Grade A show jumper, through his paces.  The fleabitten grey has wonderful power and jumping ability, but is as genuine and straightforward as a child's first pony.  The other "big" horse, Pole Position, is a gentle giant and as well as performing dressage movements and showing his ability over the jumps, likes nothing better than to pose for the camera, which he would happily do for as long as you wanted!
